Moryto: Kurpie Songs
I well remember reviewing one of the first recordings, possibly the first in the West, of Górecki’s hypnotising 3rd Symphony (Stefania Woytowicz with the Berlin Radio Symphony orchestra, conducted by Wlodzimierz Kamirski (Schwann CD 11615 (Koch-Schwann SCH 361-302)). I can remember my excitement at such a simple, yet moving, work. Over the intervening 25 years my enthusiasm for the music has waned somewhat and subsequent works of this composer have never grabbed me in quite the same way – although I still derive pleasure from performances of it. I’ve always supposed that this was because no other work of his contains the heady emotionalism of that score. That’s not to say that I haven’t enjoyed other, later, music of Górecki for there’s some powerful and intense pieces, not to mention the marvellously intimate Dobra Noc (Good Night), op.63 (1989), written in memory of Michael Vyner.
This house belongs to one the most famous and lovely singers ! Taylor Swift this young singer, has this $2.5 Million House ! Take a look inside :

Move It On Over is the second album by George Thorogood & The Destroyers released by Rounder Records in 1978. The album contains no original material. Its title track received major FM radio airplay when released, as did the Bo Diddley cover, “Who Do You Love?” Both can still be heard on the radio today.

History of music
Not bad to read this note about music’s history :
What is Music?
Dictionaries and encyclopedias define music as “an artistic form of auditory communication incorporating instrumental or vocal tones in a structured and continuous manner.” It is also defined as “any pleasing and harmonious sound” and “the sounds produced by singers or musical instruments.” (Source: wordnet.princeton.edu)
There are a lot of definitions for music and it will take a whole book to explore the subject of music. If there is one true definition of music it is this; music is universal and yet it is also relative and subjective. What may be music to one may not be so to another.
For me music is the singing of the birds, the whistling of my husband as he takes a shower, the soft humming of my little girl as she quietly plays, the beautiful sounds a pianist produces as he touches the keys of a piano…
Take a moment to ponder what the meaning of music is for you.
Origin and History of Music
There are many theories regarding when and where music originated. Many agree that music began even before man existed. Historiographers point out that there are six periods of music and each period has a particular style of music that greatly contributed to what music is today. Here are some resources for you to better understand the history of music. Links are arranged chronologically and is a great primer to learn more about every stage of music development.
Medieval/Middle Ages
Music during the Middle Ages is characterized by the beginning of musical notation as well as polyphony. During this time, there were two general types of music styles; the monophonic and the polyphonic.

3 great works of beethoven
Ludwig van Beethoven was baptised on December 17th 1770 at Bonn. His family originated from Brabant, in Belgium. His father was musician at the Court of Bonn, with a definite weakness for drink. His mother was always described as a gentle, retiring woman, with a warm heart. Beethoven referred to her as his “best friend”. The Beethoven family consisted of seven children, but only the three boys survived, of whom Beethoven was the eldest.
In 1782, before the age of 12, Beethoven published his first work: 9 variations, in C Minor, for Piano, on a march by Ernst Christoph Dressler (WoO 63). And the following year, in 1783, Neefe wrote in the “Magazine of Music”, about his student: “If he continues like this he will be, without doubt, the new Mozart”.

Anyone at all involved with music production and marketing will know that things have changed forever in the last few years, and continue to do so at what can be an alarming pace. People interested in selling their music face an uncertain market that seems to be still looking for the best method of dissemination considering problems like internet file sharing and illegal downloads.
What has become clear is that giving away music for free has to be at least part of a strategy for distributing music. Major artists frequently release free singles or even whole EPs to be downloaded by the masses. A few have even tried releasing their main albums for free or voluntary donations, with varying success. Sites have sprung up that offer free use music downloads or other similar campaigns, and there are sure to be more ideas coming into action every day. Read More »
